This West Coast Adventure will begin with a flight from New York to San Francisco. We will spend five days in the San Francisco area travelling North through Sonoma County. This part of our trip will culminate in a visit to Yosemite National Park. We will then spend three days travelling the coastal highway with stops in all the places of interest including Big Sur, Monterey Peninsula and Hearst Castle and concluding in Los Angeles.

 

We will spend another three days in the Los Angeles area with visits to the major sites including Universal Studios and Disneyland. The third part of our trip will take us for three days/nights to the area of San Diego where we will of course visit the Zoo and the Scripps Aquarium.  The final seven days of our journey will have us travel from San Diego through Death Valley and on to Las Vegas. We will visit Lake Meade and the Hoover Dam. We will continue on to Zion National Park and then to Grand Canyon National Park. From there we will travel to Phoenix with stops on the way. Finally we will depart Phoenix for our flight back to New York.

 

 

We will begin our fourteen day Bus Tour driving from New York to Mystic, CT where we will visit the Seaport and Aquarium. We will continue on Interstate 95 and head east to Newport RI where we will see the famous Mansions of Newport, the port and other Colonial Sites. This will also be a good time for a swim in the Atlantic which we will continue all the way to Maine. On day four, after two nights in the Newport Area we will travel to Boston with stops at the entrance to Cape Cod and of course Plymouth with a look at Plymouth Rock.The next five days will be spent in the Boston area where we will combine history, culture and fun with tours of Fenway Park, the Boston Duck Tours, The Museum of Science, Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall, the JFK Library, the New England Aquarium, Harvard Yard, Concord and Lexington and Bunker Hill.

Leaving Boston we will drive North to Gloucester, Rockport and Salem where we will visit all the sites and have a swim on the beaches of the North Shore. The next four days will be spent in New Hampshire and Maine where we will visit Mount Washington, New Hampshire’s Lakes and the Maine Coast. Heading South and West, we will cross into Vermont and see some of the wondrous sites of the green Mountains and of course a stop at Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory. We will continue down to the area of Western Massachusetts and spend our final few days in the Berkshires with visits to Tanglewood, Jacob’s Pillow and West Stockbridge. In the late afternoon of day fourteen we will arrive back at our starting point having had an amazing experience of the New England Summer.

 

 

Our flight departs from Newark Airport to Tel Aviv arriving in the late afternoon. Our first stop will be Jerusalem where we will spend six days. We will visit the sites of the Old City, the Jewish Quarter, Moslem and Christian Quarters. We will tour the Western Wall and Western Wall Digs and the Western Wall Tunnel.  The Campers will get to see the Via Dolorosa, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the amazing sound and light show at David’s Citadel. Of course we will spend time at Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Center. Visits will be to the various historical buildings including the Knesset, Supreme Court Israel Museum, and Mount Scopus. We will meet with dignitaries along the way.

 

From Jerusalem we will travel South to Qumran and Masada, staying at the Dead Sea where we will have time to swim and relax. We will visit the famous Wadi by Kibbutz Ein Gedi and enjoy the cool fresh waters at the falls. Heading further South we will visit the Arava Kibbutzim continuing down to Eilat to swim in the Red Sea and see the amazing sights of underwater life on the coral reef. Turning North we will head towards Beer Sheba passing the ancient City of Avdat and travelling through some of the most breathtaking valleys in the world. We will continue past Tel Aviv to visit Caesarea, Meggido, Beit Shean, and Tiberias. We will ascend the Golan Heights and travel to the very North of Israel turning West and then South through the city of Acco and on to Haifa. After visiting the sites of Northern Israel we will conclude our trip with three days in the Tel Aviv area relaxing at the beach and celebrating a great adventure. This details the trip itinerary with its many activities such as a hands-on archaeological dig, swimming in all of Israel’s Lakes and Seas and seeing the country from North to South and East to West in nineteen fun-filled exciting days.
